Three training Elements. One methodology.
Designed to meet you exactly where you are.
How TPM is organized
The Preston Method™ is built around three training Elements — each one describing a category of movement, not a level to graduate from.
Think of the Elements less like rungs on a ladder and more like tools in a kit. At any given time, your program may draw from one Element or all three — depending on your assessment, your goals, and what your body needs right now.
A fit athlete recovering from a shoulder injury might be doing Performance work alongside Mobility work for their shoulder in the same session. A returning exerciser might primarily move through Strength + Mobility, incorporating Mobility work after a hip replacement.
The Elements describe the work. Your assessment — and the ongoing support, check-ins, and reassessments that follow — determines the combination.
The Three Elements
Mobility
Restore movement, body awareness, and physical readiness.
Mobility is the foundation of every movement. This Element focuses on restoring range of motion, improving body awareness, and building the physical readiness your nervous system needs before anything heavier or more demanding is introduced.
This is where many people discover that what they thought was a strength problem was actually a movement problem first.
Mobility work is not passive stretching. It is active, intentional, and neurologically engaged movement from the start.
Strength + Mobility
Build support, stability, and usable strength through range of motion.
This Element builds on the foundation established in Mobility — adding load, resistance, and progressive challenge while maintaining the movement quality that makes strength training safe and effective.
The goal here is not aesthetic. It is functional — building the kind of strength that supports daily life, protects joints, and creates resilience across a wide range of movement demands.
Strength is fragile without mobility. Mobility is unstable without strength. This Element keeps both combined as you build.
Performance + Longevity
Develop capacity, coordination, and sustainable function — for life or sport.
This Element is for people who are ready to push further — whether that means athletic performance, physical independence well into older age, or the confidence to move through life without limitation.
Performance here is not defined by a podium. It is defined by what matters to you — hiking further, lifting your grandchildren, returning to a sport, or simply feeling capable and strong in your own body for the long run.
Moving between Elements
Your program is built from the Elements that match your body’s current needs — fluid, like life itself, shifting as you respond, progress, recover, and change.
Your sequence is determined by your body, not a calendar. Progress happens when your body is ready.
t is simply an ongoing read of where your body is — and the right tools applied accordingly.
Guiding all three Elements: Cognition in Motion™
No matter which Element you are working on, Cognition in Motion™ is present throughout — connecting brain and body, building awareness, timing, and coordination into every stage of training.
